SOLO PERFORMANCE WORK

In the summer of 2023, I premiered my debut solo show, Are You There, Rihanna? It’s Me, Kyle at The Tank as part of their Pridefest. Then in October 2024, I produced the show again at C’Mon Everybody, one of my favorite queer bars in Brooklyn! Read below for a description of the show, as well as photo gallery from both productions and an archival recording of the 2024 production.

Kyle is an ex-Catholic, chronically online, 20-something Gay who is neurotically obsessed with pop culture and, more specifically, female pop music. He is talkative, trend-obsessed, and allegedly “too much,” but his favorite thing in the world is sharing his music taste with others. In this coming-of-age tale, Kyle chronicles his life journey while performing the music and lyrics of the pop divas that have guided his life. Part-cabaret show, part-sacreligious Catholic mass, part-therapy session, Are You There, Rihanna? It’s Me, Kyle. is an inside look at the Gen Z experience of finding religiosity in the culture that shapes our lives and embracing queerness in the process.
